Settings
Settings
Open the Settings tab at the bottom of the screen. Settings are grouped under SECURITY and VAULT.
Security
In-app inactivity timeout
Locks the vault when you stop using Symudol while it is open.
Choose from Never while app is open, 1 minute, 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes or 1 hour. The default is 5 minutes.
Any touch on the screen resets the timer. When it runs out, you see the Session Expired screen and enter your PIN again.
Background lock delay
Locks the vault after Symudol has been sent to the background.
Choose from Immediately, 1 minute, 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour or Never while app is running. The default is 5 minutes.
Symudol does not lock this way while it is handling a request from another app, so an approval is not interrupted.
Approval session duration
The on-screen description reads: "After a manual approval, remembered low-risk NIP-55 requests from verified native apps can continue for" the time you choose.
Choose from Ask every time, 1 minute, 5 minutes or 15 minutes. The default is Ask every time.
In the current development version, this setting has little practical effect. Remembered decisions for a specific kind of request, such as signing text notes, are applied whether or not a session is active.
Trusted Nostr apps
Opens the list of remembered decisions for apps on your phone, where you can revoke them. See Trusted Nostr apps.
Remote Signer (NIP-46)
Opens your remote app connections. See Remote apps (NIP-46).
Session security
An information note: "Shorter delays are safer; longer delays are more convenient. Never only lasts while the app process remains running."
If Android closes Symudol, the vault is locked the next time you open it, whatever you chose.
Lock Vault
Locks the vault immediately. You need your PIN to unlock it again.
Not available yet
These items appear in Settings but do nothing in the current development version:
- Change PIN.
- Biometric Unlock. The screen says "Not available yet — PIN unlock remains required".
- Backup Vault.
- Wipe Vault.
